Welcome to wurwil, my name is Tom and with extensive experience in Passivhaus design and sustainability consulting, I help consultants, architects, developers, and clients create buildings that are both environmentally responsible and a joy to inhabit.

Whether you're a practice looking for specialist expertise, or a client embarking on your own sustainable project, I will provide the technical knowledge and practical guidance to make your vision a reality.

My approach combines rigorous technical analysis with a deep understanding of how buildings should feel to live and work in, ensuring performance never comes at the expense of cost or beauty.

wurwil takes its name from family roots and the idea that meaningful work grows from intention. We focus on long-term value, responsible systems, and outcomes that endure.

Tom Willis, Founder, Director - 

Prior to joining wurwil, I worked across a range of engineering practices, where I developed strong expertise in sustainability consulting, with a particular focus on Passivhaus and Whole Life Carbon (WLC).

Alongside my technical background, I am an experienced business developer, having successfully established two new business streams. In my most recent role, I played the lead in advancing the Passivhaus sector within the practice, driving improvements in operational efficiency, market presence and project delivery. This work contributed directly to increased project success and overall profitability.

My combination of strong technical capability and commercial acumen is a rare quality within engineering. This blend enables me to provide clients with clear strategic insight, alongside technical assurance, giving confidence that projects will be both robust and commercially successful.
